Afternoon, bitches, it's your friendly neighborhood-me.
So I'm here to talk about a fancy game called Command and Conquer: Red Alert. Specifically, with the "open" prefix, implying that it's open sourced. In this day and age, we are supposed to hate anything that isn't 100% free, and editable by anyone, despite not doing either of those things (Thank you, based valve and your free to play movement)
For starters, lemme actually describe what this game is supposed to be.
Command & Conquer (the original) is effectively first 'real' real time strategy game, it's story involved some fancy-ass thing called Tiberium, and a bunch of crazy factions; but we don't care about that, because we have Red Alert. Red Alert is a spinoff game in which the Soviet Union wages war against the Allies, pretty simple stuff.
Now, openRA is a mostly multiplayer oriented spinoff, of the spinoff. There are the 'story' missions, but I haven't gotten around to playing them just yet, as my computer is a toaster and stuggles with running openRA. So; it's multiplayer RTS, which should scare you. RTS games are the world of absurd actions per minute spam, Koreans, and incredibly quick wins/loses. Since we're all more-or-less new to this game, we shouldn't struggle with that. Too much, at least.
The game itself is pretty damned simple, you have a base, you make buildings, which unlocks new units/buildings to make, which then unlock even more things, which you need to do while trying to mine ore. It's pretty simple, while still fun gameplay.
On the topic of gameplay, our dear friend, Gribbles will be hosting our servers, as my aforementioned computer is unable to.
I'll include some fun resources here;

TL;DW: There are tanks, you make the tanks, and then you win.

Please tell me what I fucked up, and how I make this a better thread.
